Michigan Magic Day 2016 is Friday April 8 and Saturday April 9 in Ann Arbor on the beautiful Washtenaw Community College campus in the Morris Lawrence Building and Towlsey Auditorium. It is hosted this year by the Ann Arbor Magic Club! We invite you to join us for this jam-packed celebration of Michigan Magic with special guest, Levent!

The Performers




His incredibly unique and brilliant combination of masterful comedy and world class sleight of hand, a culmination of over 30 years of experience, has made Levent a much sought-after entertainer, and has earned him great respect from his fellow peers.

Levent is our only “non-Michigan” performer, but he is known worldwide as a performer, par-excellance! He will be at the Friday night gathering, lecture on Saturday, and headlines our public show Saturday night. Here’s your chance to meet, speak, and marvel at the magical musings of the one and only Levent!

Gene Anderson

Gene Anderson of Torn-and-Restored newspaper fame! See Gene perform the magic from his “People Show” that he never gets to do at magic conventions. Gene will be here all Saturday schmoozing and having fun before performing on the public show Saturday night.

Gene was awarded seven first-prize trophies in magic competitions for stage, comedy, close-up and originality, he has been on the covers of GENII and THE LINKING RING magazines, and he was nominated for two Academy Awards by the Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood. Among his many magical writings, Gene’s book “Newspaper Magic,” is now in its eleventh printing!

Stuart MacDonald

Stuart MacDonald brings his “unintentional magician” act both in lecture form Saturday as well as performing it for the public show Saturday night.

The Magic Stu aka Stuart MacDonald started magic early just like any kid but never let it go. In 1982, he won the Society of American Magician’s national competition and was awarded the Chavez Cup for manipulation (now in the hall of fame of magic). Stu ended his competitive career when he qualified for the World Championships of Magic (F.I.S.M) in Madrid Spain. Stu now tours venues from corporate to casinos, performing arts series, theaters, universities, conventions and trade shows.

Anthony Grupido

Anthony Grupido is a young full-time magician that stays busier than most. He has a strong motivational message that he illustrates with various magic effects. He’ll be sharing some things in lecture format on Saturday, and performing at the public show that evening.

The American Museum of Magic calls Anthony Grupido ‘Metro-Detroit’s Busiest Magician’. In 2013, Anthony traveled the U.S. performing a motivational magic show in every major city. Along his journey, he built a metaphor that shows you the course from crisis to hope. Anthony has appeared on Fox, NBC, and even debuted in Las Vegas at the Primm Valley Casino; he pushes others to think critically and accomplish dreams one goal at a time.

Rufus the Dufus

Rufus the Dufus brings his amazing juggling skills to bear at the Saturday night public program. He’ll make it look easy, but trust us… it’s not!

Rufus the Dufus, sometimes better known as Chuck Clark, has been performing his brand of comedy juggling for the last seven years. Rufus’s performing career began with a well balanced unicycle and juggling act, and he has been adding new and exciting tricks to his performing repertoire.

Magic, juggling and object manipulation, unicycling, balancing acts, and much much more—all honed to perfection ensuring maximum crowd appreciation.

Gordo the Magician

Gordon Schott (aka “Gordo”) will perform Saturday night.

Gordon & Teri Schott are a husband and wife magic duo from Ann Arbor, Michigan, most often performing under the stage name ‘Gordo the Magician’.  They perform both publicly and privately at schools, corporate events, fundraisers, restaurants, and of course, birthday parties.  Their unique brand of family friendly entertainment is enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

John Dudley

John Dudley is a full-time comedy magician from the west side of Michigan. He’ll leave ‘em laughing at the public show on Saturday night!

John is a magical entertainer for the young and the young at heart. From the opening tricks to the grand finale, John’s show holds the audience in wonder. His show has thrilled audiences throughout the Midwest at festivals, company picnics, libraries, school assemblies and county fairs.

Paul Nielsen

Paul Nielsen, owner of Wunderground Magic Shop in Clawson will share some magic history at a lecture on Saturday.

Paul is an avid magic performer, collector, owner of Wunderground Magic in Metro Detroit and on the Board of The American Museum of Magic . He has been performing magic since he was nine, but took a short hiatus to get a Ph.D. in computer science, serve on the faculty of a major university, and founded a software company that builds massive-scale simulations. Paul has authored over fifty papers, articles, and book chapters and does lectures on the history of magic.

Michael Mode

Michael Mode will be lecturing Saturday.

Michael Mode is a speaker, magician and innovation consultant who teaches people how to think like a magician so they can solve problems that might seem impossible.

Michael is one of a handful of magicians to ever tour with David Copperfield as part of David’s creative group, MagicLab.

Dave Schneider

Dave Schneider, owner of ABC Magic Shop in Mount Clemens will lecture Friday Night.

Dave is the owner of ABC magic shop an has been a full time working Magician for Well Over 20 years. He has worked trade Shows , Cruise ships and restaurants .And much more But his true
Love is the Family Show, He has insights on Marketing,And How to script your
show, And how pack an emergency Box for when things go wrong.

He personally performs over 300 shows a year and has kept 3 magicians working with him.
That’s a lot of shows. If you want to get started performing or just get a few pointers this is the lecture for you
